Burton Vintage 1983 Performer Experimental Series
This 100% original Vintage Burton Performer Snowboard is the experimental series in the blue and white colorway. It is a rare board as this and the Powdergun were the only two all blue boards ever produced for production. The topsheet is in excellent condition with only minor imperfections. Graphics are 100% clean and crisp.
The Deckmat is in excellent to mint condition with no damage. Both black rubber bindings are soft and pliable with no cracks but could use a good cleaning to make them shine. Both of the yellow webbing straps are in good condition but are dirty and the fastex buckle clips are oxidized and show signs of wear.
The black mounting thumbscrews are in excellent condition show signs of age and oxidation. The mounting bars are in excellent condition with signs of oxidation, which could be cleaned up nice. Fins are in good condition with signs of use , the left fin shows more rock damage than the others, but all are straight. All six fins mount bolts are original and are in excellent to mint condition.
This board also came equipped with the original recreation technology safety strap to prevent runaway boards. This leash alone can sell up to $200 by itself. The base is in good to excellent condition. All paint and white graphics are intact but when held to the light there are several visible scratches, five of which are more than minor. Four of those have been touched up with a very close blue colored touch up paint. It looks good, this is a rare board in this condition as many of those boards lost paint on the base very easily.
Collectors, please note, Salty Peaks Snowboard Shop has a mission statement to document and preserve snowboard history and does not engage in the selling of vintage snowboards from the Utah Snowboard Museum. Most of the boards on this site are privately owned and priced according to rarity and condition. In most cases, they are not intended to sell but to educate fellow collectors of the more rare and hard to find snowboards out there, along with potential value of such boards. Prices are set to discourage purchase, but as time catches up to value, these prices may not seem so far off in the future. If you are interested in selling a board of this caliber, please contact the curator of the Utah Snowboard Museum, Dennis Nazari. If you are in need of period correct bindings, parts, or hardware, also contact the museum for availability; or 801-273-8770
