Vintage Prototype Burton “Pipeline” Snowboard
$4,500 (add $40 for a professional full tune)
Add $150 for period correct bindings
Another rare prototype board, the Pipeline was never shown in any consumer catalogs but may been shown in a dealer catalog in the early 90’s. The board’s geometry is that of the Cruiser Series boards with a similar graphic but different colors, and it says “Pipeline” on the tail where the production boards said “Cruise.” Most collectors have never even seen this board and don’t know it exists until now. Topsheet is in good condition with bindings marks in both goofy and regular mountain positions. There are 8 additional t-nut style inserts added to provide a wider stance option which may have been factory installed. There is an Airwalk sticker on the nose and a Nitro stomp pad that are not factory additions. There are several minor scratches in the topsheet from use. The base is in good condition with several scratches from use and there is dirty wax build up on the base. A good full tune would make it look brand new again.
Collectors, please note, Salty Peaks Snowboard Shop has a mission statement to document and preserve snowboard history and does not engage in the selling of vintage snowboards from the Utah Snowboard Museum. Most of the boards on this site are privately owned and priced according to rarity and condition. In most cases, they are not intended to sell but to educate fellow collectors of the more rare and hard to find snowboards out there, along with potential value of such boards. Prices are set to discourage purchase, but as time catches up to value, these prices may not seem so far off in the future. If you are interested in selling a board of this caliber, please contact the curator of the Utah Snowboard Museum, Dennis Nazari. If you are in need of period correct bindings, parts, or hardware, also contact the museum for availability; or 801-273-8770
Happy hunting and enjoy!
