Sims Vintage 1983 FE 1500 Snowboard

One of Tom Sims first most popular boards was the FE series which stood for “fiberglass” and “epoxy.” This board is unique to production models because of the gray base which is very rare (I have never seen another one like it)it may have been a prototype ptex, race ptex, or a team issue board.

The base is in good condition with old wax still applied. The base is noticeably warped and all 3 fins and hardware are missing. The top sheet is in good condition with normal wear and tear. The silkscreened Sims wing logo has a smudge mark or may have been a paint spill and there are 6 L shaped scratches on the nose that look like someone made them intentionally most likely with a razor blade.

The all original bindings are stock low back or no back bindings with fastex clips. The rear binding is missing the Sims patch on the ankle strap. This board comes with the very rare shorty Sims surf leash as the transition from near binding safety strap to front binding safety straps.

Not the best one out there but a great addition to any collection with the gray base.
