Limited Edition Burton Vintage 1980 Backhill Snowboard – Big Block [LTD]

Burton Vintage 1980 Burton Backhill Snowboard

This is a 1980 Burton Backhill with the big block Burton graphic. This is one of the more rare Backhill models in near mint condition complete and original parts. The topsheet graphics are crisp and clean with no damage. It still has remnants of the original price sticker on the nose. The tip has a handwritten serial number of “GHR8-10JAKE” Indicating that Jake Burton built this board with his own hands. The green deckmat is crisp and clean all around with only age affecting the appearance.

The front binding is soft and pliable and could be cleaned. The front mounting bars have the correct ribbed bottom. The six mounting thumb screws show signs of oxidation. One has a ¼ inch crack in the black material. (This could be refined with an original thumbscrew for $25) The rear binding is soft and pliable but has a harder top due to age. When stretched it shows signs of age cracks, but are only visible while stretched.

The rear binding mount bars and mount screws are in perfect condition with only slight age oxidation. The fins are original and have never been removed from the board. They are straight and clean with only minor signs of use on the very tips of the fins.  The six mounting nuts and bolts are original and in excellent condition. One of them has a small hole in the red dome.

The base is nearly flawless with all original factory finish still intact. No scratches and the graphics are in mint condition. The tail shows very superficial signs of use considered to be in excellent condition. This board is complete with original orange twisted top and red plastic handle. Both are in mint condition. It will be very hard to find one of these boards in better condition than this one!
